Competitions on social media are increasingly using video as a form of entry.

In a world where content marketing is fast becoming king, this makes sense. Video has great engagement levels on social media and is great for sharing.

The Fritz Blitz in Austria

In Austria, a secondary school in Weiz won a week of skiing and snowboarding, as part of the promotion for the Fritz Blitz – a campaign run by former Olympic champion Fritz Strobl.

The winning entry shown below was created by class 2C at MHS Weiz. Their entry is called “Wintersport ist cool – darauf fahren wir ab” – a stop motion film, which shows Lego figures performing tricks.

Easy Rider by Les 3 Vallees

Another recent competition using video as the key driver was the Easy Rider promotion by Les 3 Vallees in France.

Skipedia has to declare an interest, as we designed and managed this competition, but we’re delighted that it proved to be a great success.

Families were invited to enter a competition to win £30,000 worth of holidays and equipment by posting videos or photos to the Les 3 Vallees Facebook page.  Over 30 families entered, creating valuable content that was shared on Twitter and Facebook.

The winning family was chosen by a panel of judges and you can view their entry below:
