Following our recent update on the Top 10 French Ski Resorts and the Top 10 Austrian ski resorts, today it’s time to find out who’s top of the charts in Italy:

The Top 10 Italian Ski Resorts on Facebook

1. Madonna di Campiglio – 11676 fans
2. Val Gardena – 7311
3. Monterosa Ski – 6768
4. Cortina d’Ampazzo – 6424
5. Bardonecchia – 5378
6. Livigno – 5350
7. La Thuile – 4999
8. Alta Badia – 4238
9. Cervinia – 2854
10. Passo Tonale – 2244

Random Stats

  • 69% have a link to their Facebook page from their website’s home page
  • 70% of Italian resorts have set up a personalised Facebook URL
  • Bormio is the only resort to have selected ‘Ski Resort’ as Type of Business
  • Only 43% of resorts have an official Twitter account
Area pages 
Unlike in France and Austria, there was only one cumulative regional Facebook page – for Monterosa Ski.
Omissions
Surprisingly we could not find any ‘official’ Facebook pages for either Courmayeur or Sauze d’Oulx.  We did find this page for Courmayeur, but we don’t think it’s run by the resort.  If it is, then it would jump into 9th place.

Official pages only
Please note that these are the ‘Official’ Facebook pages – as referred to from the official resort websites.  In many cases there are more popular Facebook pages for each resort, but they are (as far as we can tell) independent of the resort.  We looked at the 17 top resorts in Italy when compiling this list.
