The theory goes that Elon Musk was in the Dolomites and was so struck by the area that he commissioned architects BlueArch from Bolzano in Italy to design a mountain chalet for him.
These photos on this page were produced by the company founders Alessandro Costanza and Alberto Montesi, who specialise in bespoke ultra-luxury projects.

15 ensuite bedrooms, infinity pool & cryogenic chamber
A clue to the inspiration behind the design lies with the Tesla Cybertruck parked outside. The 800 square metres building is a post-modern creation of striking, angular geometry.
Constructed over five floors, of which two are underground, the property would have 15 ensuite bedrooms and a 30-metre infinity pool on a suspended terrace. The spa area would be equipped with a special cryogenic chamber with liquid nitrogen and capable of reaching temperatures as low as -100 degrees Celsius.
Unlikely purchase
Whether the owner of Tesla, Twitter and Space X is really to base himself in the Italian Dolomites is a moot point.
BlueArch claim that they were commissioned to produce the design for Musk in November 2023 by “an intermediary”.
However, in May 2020, Musk Tweeted that “I am selling almost all physical possessions. Will own no house” and has since sold at least seven properties for more than $100 million.
Great PR
The fact that the land where the chalet would have been built has now been sold to a different buyer could lead you to imagine that BlueArch are as good at PR as they are at design.
Other beneficiaries include other property owners in San Cassiano, where real estate prices have rocketed since the alleged investment was announced.
According to Constanza, “Musk liked the project: he contacted us again and would like to continue.”
By good fortune, he also noted that “since the news about Elon, it’s like a bomb has exploded: everyone is looking for us.”
