Uber has launched a new service connecting skiers from the main Swiss hubs to ski resorts.

It’s not cheap. Fares cost from CHF140 to a hefty CHF390. Potentially that could be less than train fares for a family of four.

Switzerland to French and Swiss resorts

According to the website iamexpat.ch, UberSki will connect you from Bern, Zurich, Geneva or Lausanne to resorts including Zermatt, Verbier, Engelberg, Andermatt, Grindelwald, Chamonix, Courchevel, Morzine and numerous others.

Your vehicle will come equipped with a ski rack and snow tyres to ensure that there’s no issues reaching your resort.

Trial in southern French Alps

The system was originally trialled in France last winter, with passengers able to go from Grenoble to a dozen different resorts.

UberSki can be booked as normal via their app.
