In September 2026, Iain from The Ski Podcast led the forum at ‘Ski Launch 2026’, the annual event for ski industry professionals.
This year’s event saw a record number of attendees, representing destinations, tour operators, travel agencies, websites, magazines and newspapers.
Sessions covered a wide selection of topics, but the news everyone wanted to discuss was the recent cancellation of BBC’s ‘Ski Sunday’.
Iain spoke with Chemmy Alcott to find out more about how she found out and what her plans were now.
What skiers really want…
Other sessions included a panel with the ‘The Ski Agents’ as Iain and the audience quizzed the experts on ‘what skiers really want’.

The Rise of Ski Touring
The focus then turned to ski touring, as ski journalists Katja Gaskell, Sam Haddad and Mike Richards joined Iain to discuss the increase in interest in ski touring and some of the new technologies available.
The Threat of Climate Change
Iain spoke about the existential threat of climate change to the snowsports industry and highlighted some of the great work being done by organisations such as Montagne Verte, Inghams and Les Arcs.

The Post-Olympic Buzz
Finally, before the networking lunch, Katy Ellis from The Ski Club of Great Britain, Mike Ward from TUI and Chemmy Alcott joined Iain to discuss how the industry can leverage the buzz from the Winter Olympics into more bookings for this winter.
Ski Launch 2027 is scheduled for Tuesday 14 September.
