Unless you’ve been living in a cave like Obi Wan Kenobi, you may have noticed a new Star Wars movie has recently come out.
We thought we’d mark the occasion by celebrating five great ‘Star Wars’ appearances in ski resorts!
1. Star Wars comes to the Folie Douce
These guys are always bang on the zeitgeist, so it was no surprise to see that the Folie Douce in Val d’Isere were strong in the Force last week, with a stormtrooper on the decks and Princess Leia looking mighty fine…
2. Darth Vador on holiday in Courchevel
So firstly, no that’s not a misspelling – he is actually called Darth Vador in France (and for what it’s worth, C3-PO is called Z6-PO). And secondly, Courchevel created this cute video about how he’d rather be on a ski holiday than at the premiere:
3. AT-ATs in Banff
There’s no sound on this one, but apparently the Empire have made inroads into British Columbia, according to The Banff Centre. Click on the image to see the video:
4. Stormtroopers can ski
Even stormtroopers need a holiday from time to time. This video shows one enjoying some time away from the Death Star:
5. Snowboarders use the Force
Best of all the lot is this great YouTube video titled ‘Star Wars: Snowboarders v. Skiers’. It’s brilliantly edited and shot and reminiscent of the classic ‘Apocalyse Snow’ movies from back in the day. Our only beef is that the skiers are on the dark side…
