Last month, in January 2018, Iain from Skipedia went to the French Pyrenees to learn more about this mountain range that so often gets forgotten, behind all the focus on the Alps.

Our experience was that the ski resorts of the French Pyrenees have a huge amount to offer. One of the highlights of the trip was a day off-piste skiing in Grand Tourmalet, and specifically the descent from the Pic du Midi.

Iain’s article on this backcountry adventure – ‘Pyrenean Powder Hunting’ – was recently published on one of the UK’s leading ski website

Iain stayed the night at the Pic du Midi after his day skiing in the Grand Tourmalet ski area. You can find out more about staying at the Pic, and having the chance to view a sunrise like the one shown below, on their website.
